NIGHT OF THE ORCAS

From the depths and haunting illusions
of the sacred dream world,
night after night comes the calling
of the great finned water people.
The mist and rhythm of your powerful breaths
linger long after my awakening.
The song in your voices beckon me once again
to swim beside you in your distant undersea home.
From there I can see and feel the painful story
of your friends, the ancient land peoples.
With this message, you have clear-cut
a laser path deep into my soul
as you say:
Let all two leggers quiet their noisy mindlessness
and give way to respect and reverence
for all other beings and their worlds.
For we are all interdependent brothers and sisters
in the realm of the great spirit.
